Project Spotlight: Town of Oakland, FL

PlanActive Studio led the Town of Oakland's city wide design code to ensure the context and character of the Town would be preserved by creating a form-based code that supports the local architecture without creating strict historic design guidelines.  


The town also has a unique location with their gateway into the town being located on a State Roadway that creates some challenges that fragment the Town's overall character.


The new code acknowledges the design of the street while balancing the need to create walkable places.
